According to Matthew Bell, economist at Australian Property Monitors (APM), Brisbane and Perth are the best places to buy. “Queensland and Western Australia’s increased exposure to the downturns in both the resources and tourism sectors has meant that price recovery for both houses and units have trailed other states,” says Bell. “However it’s important to move now as prices are likely to recover in early 2010.”
